Jumping Brown Creature...

I saw the wierdest thing this evening. I was being taken out in the rain - AGAIN - and it was dark so I don't know what time it was, but as I went out onto the steps something moved! It jumped down the steps, and over by the fence. I ran up to it (which made my mum slam the door because she was closing the door with the other hand when I jolted forward) and it was all bumpy and slimy! It had wierd looking feet, and it covered it's head with it's front legs/feet when I was giving it a good sniff. It was so cute, I just wanted to EAT IT...but, of course, my mum said, "No Dash, don't eat that toad!"

After I did my business, she let me go back over to it to say 'goodnight', but she still wouldn't let me eat it! I bet it would have tasted good, too - but I guess I'll never know. Maybe when I'm older I'll sneak in a 'toad snack' one day when I'm out...hehe...now THAT'S what I call an appetizer!

Rain, Rain, Rain...

It's STILL raining! I hate going out in the rain, I'd rather do business in the house but mum keeps taking me out.

I hate the mud. It gets stuck between my toes, and it's making the kitchen floor really dirty. I hate the rain, because when my head gets wet the hair sticks straight up after I shake myself and I look all spikey. I hate the wind, because I can't concentrate to go when leaves and stuff is flying through the air! I'm just not happy with rain and I want it to be summer so I can run and play in the pool!

Go have a look...I'll write more later, mum just went into the kitchen so I snuck on just for a minute to let you all know...

Back to work...

I went back to work today, so I got loads of sleep in my cage. It's a lot quieter than at home, even if machines are running and phone are ringing...

Oh, check this out - mum took away my newspaper at work too! So I had to do business on the pavement, which was really wierd, but GOLLY GEE I had to goooo!!! I had no accidents at work, but I kinda slipped up when I got home and messed in the front room because I was so excited to be home to see The Little Ones & The Girl with Attitude again! I think I just had lots of energy from all the sleep I had...

Mum's at home!

Yippee, mum stayed home from work today! I did really good doing business outside, only had a few accidents in the house which was my mum's fault. The little blonde one isn't feeling good, the little brown haired one is getting better, and the girl stayed in bed all day. Anyway, the little ones wanted to go outside, and they took FOREVER to get their shoes on and I ended up doing business on the floor. I wish they'd get organized BEFORE I wake up and need to go out! Other than that, I can honestly say I'm doing much better!

I'm going to school!

My mum finally called the number on the fridge about puppy school! There are two places left for the next class that starts in about 4 weeks. I'm so excited! There is going to be only 6 puppies in a class. I'll let you know how it goes I really can't wait. I wonder if they saw me on TV? I'm kinda shy and just want to fit in. I wonder if they will see the magazine (which comes out beginning of March)? As much as I'm proud of it (I mean, I look FANTASTIC!) I don't want doggy-friends who like me just because I'm a celebrity. Next thing I know they'll want to borrow money or play with my toys...

"Half Term"

I stayed home with my nanny today, it's something called "half term" and all the kids are home and my mum went to work WITHOUT me! My nanny had to take me outside to 'do business' which was really cool because she let me run around the garden a lot! I still 'did business' in the house a bit, but not as much. I kinda like doing it outside, I get to see the birds and I love the fresh air since I'm not going up to the school. I wonder how long "half term" is, because I want to go to work with my mum - it's a lot quieter, and there's a lot of coughing going on here I think the kids are sick - their noses are dry!

My progress

I've been going outside 50% of the time, I've pooped on the floor twice today, and peed once...it's hard to get into a routine because it's the weekend. Normal weekdays are nothing like today! Maybe I'll try harder to get mum's attention when I want to go out. Right now, I'm not doing anything, she just keeps asking me if I need to go out, or she just takes me every so often. I don't like to bark in the house, and when my mum tries to get me to bark I just jump up on her - which doesn't go down well!

Oh well, at least she took me outside EARLY this morning at 1am (guess she couldn't sleep and I was awake anyway) so I never had to poop/pee in my cage. That was nice!

Going Outside

I get it now! My mum took me outside on the leash and I have my own potty area! My mum is so funny, she took a plastic picnic table, a slide, and two big plastic cars to make my own little area! I'm so glad my tummy won't explode pee all over.

I actually peed outside as well! In front of all the birds, too! My mum gave me a treat and told me I was a good boy, too. She told me there would be no more newspapers and I think she wants me to 'signal' when I need to go out, but sometimes I'm not sure WHEN I need to go out until I'm desperate...so we'll see how it goes!

My newspaper is gone!

Well, get this. We got home from work, and my mum took away my newspaper! Just picked it up, and threw it away like it meant nothing to her. Where am I going to pee? This is just great, now my tummy is going to explode and pee is going to be all over the kitchen! Then she'll probably be saying those bad words grown-ups say as she's cleaning it up. Serves her right! How would she like it if I took away her toilet???

The Children

WOW, are these children being naughty! The little blonde one threw chocolate porrige all over the wall, up and onto the ceiling! Mum told him off BAD because she can't even reach that high to get it off!

THEN last weekend, Sunday I think, the girl who is around 12 1/2 taught the little blonde one how to say, "SCREW YOU!" so she got in big trouble as well! Mum really told her off and grounded her. I don't even get to say rude phrases yet, so neither should the little blonde one.

Oh, and before I forget, also this week the little brown haired one was mad and he went around with a highlighter marker and put an 'X' on the inside doors. Again, mum was really mad and made him wash it off. My poor mum, no wonder she has no patience lately!

Barking in Public

This morning, at the school, I BARKED at other dogs! I saw three or four different dogs, the usual little white one that sniffs noses with me, and there was a BIG one - that's the one I wanted to play with, but he just walked away with his owner. Maaan, I wanted to play! So then I saw some other big dogs, and barked at them too. My mum was laughing, because I've never barked in public before! She walked me down the street (past the house) to give me some more exercise and I saw lots of houses, and some cars, and even saw some more people!

I slept all day, so much better now that mum changed the cage at work, this one is bigger for me and more comfortable.

Oh, and I weigh 8kg now.

My Photo Shoot

Wow, what a day! We left around 1:30pm to go to Slough (by London) to have my pictures taken for Dogs Today Magazine. My mum and dad took a lot of stuff, like my cage and supplies I'd need - geez, you'd think I was a baby!

We arrived and I saw Beverly again (She's really nice and has cool glasses), along with some other people and the photographer, etc. They took a lot of pictures of me, and I was trying really really hard to be a good boy and sit still! I don't think I did too bad though. When they finally got the shot they wanted (full body shot with me looking off to the side) they took pictures of me and my mum! That was really cool because we don't have a pic of me and her yet, because she is always the one taking the pictures at home! They gave me a little 'doggy bag' of some chocolates, the latest edition of the magazine, a toy, and some books. HOW COOL!!!

On the way home, we hit BAD traffic - again! If I remember right, we hit the traffic in the same spot as the time I was coming home! Anyway, it took us around 4 hours to get home! I just made it to Clackett Lane Services to relieve myself - aaah, that felt nice! I wasn't that tired when I got home, because I've slept so much in the car today, so I played with my toys for a bit before going to bed.

Now I'm up because I can't sleep, I'm so excited to see my pictures! I better get back to bed, I think I hear someone rustling around...nite nite!

weight

Mum weighed me at work today, and on that scale I'm 7.3kg.

Getting ready to have my pictures taken tomorrow, I can't wait! I hope I don't poop on the floor - I think my mum and dad have worked out my schedule and are taking the crate along, so I don't think I'll have an accident....

I will write all about it soon! Wish me luck!!!
